How do I know if this is for me?

Strong is for everyone.

Our clients are dads wanting to keep up with their toddlers, moms with busy careers, athletes of (of all ages and styles) looking to perform better, senior citizens looking for longevity and mobility, caretakers learning to take care of themselves (and not just everyone else), non-athletes who just wants to be healthy and live bigger lives without restraint. We see people who want to gain weight, lose weight, rehab injuries, change their body compositions, run marathons, climb mountains, race bikes, compete in weight lifting competitions, compete in body building competitions, and those who simply want to feel strong, confident, and capable.

Being strong is for anyone looking to take hold of their health — physical, mental, and emotional — to become the strongest version of themselves.

It’s easy to get a feel for who we are and how the business functions — set up your appointment for a free consultation (in-studio (Northeast Minneapolis) or virtual (we have clients training virtually all across the U.S.) where you can learn about our approach and we can learn about your goals.

What do I need to get started?

Most Importantly, you’ll need a positive attitude and openness to instruction to be successful, regardless of the goal.

  • Gym Shoes: Nothing fancy (ask us for recommendations if you’d like); if you’re planning to train in-studio, no outside shoes are permitted beyond the entryway (so please change your shoes when you arrive inside (if your shoes have been worn outside, please be sure that soles of the shoes are wiped clean before wearing them on the training floor; working out in your socks is acceptable)).

  • Comfortable Workout Clothing: You will be moving, and possibly sweating during your workouts, prepare for that (if training in-studio, individual bathrooms with showers are available for changing, etc; please bring your own towel and toiletries).

  • Water: Make sure you have a full bottle! (a water-filling station is available on the second level of the studio)

  • Notebook and Pen: Tracking your progress (on all fronts) is very important, and varies by individual…from weights and reps, to body measurements, and even nutrition for some

  • Lacrosse Ball or Tennis Ball and a Foam Roller: Mobility is key to staying healthy, supple, and pain free

  • Becoming a Supple Leopard or an online subscription to The Ready State (Kelly Starrett): This man is the best in the business when it comes to mobility, flexibility, stretching, and keeping your body healthy, our team consults his resources frequently.

Most of all, if you have the thought in your head that says: “I’ll get signed up once I’m in shape,” — DON’T LISTEN TO IT! We cannot tell you how many times we have heard clients say this. If you’re here reading this page, it’s time to reach out and get your questions answered!

What will training be like?

The trainers are funny, personable, and wildly smart — they’ve all been working in the industry for decades (very uncommon in fitness).

  • The Consultation: It is a 1:1 conversation with our trainers where we talk to you about what you’re trying to accomplish, a little about your history, and it also gives us a chance to talk with you about our approach. There is no cost for that appointment, which takes approximately one hour. At the end of that appointment, you’ll be invited to make your first official workout appointment, you’ll receive a packet of information to reference (but hey, why wait, all of that info is linked here for you, too!)!

  • Getting Started Package ($325 (value of $500)): This training package is a one-time purchase meant to make the process easy for you. It includes:

    • Three 1:1 sessions where you will learn all of the basic movements and where our trainers will evaluate your body for imbalances and opportunities to improve your mobility, and (when you’re ready), you’ll have your very first total-body workout(s).

    • Two standard sessions that are very hands on, even while training with 1-3 others (this is how 98 percent of our clients choose to train).

    • One 30-minute check-in to make sure all of your questions are answered (usually after your fourth session).

  • Ongoing Training: After you complete your Starter package, you continue training in whatever style is best for you (1:1 or Standard); the pricing can be found here (if standard training, there could be 1-3 others training beside you at the same time).

  • Training Frequency: Determine what is best for your life and your budget. Clients training 1-2 per month use their sessions as a measuring stick to keep them on track during their workouts outside of the studio; clients training once weekly should be arduous about workouts on non-training days, too, for the most progress; clients training 2-3 times weekly usually see the most progress because their behaviors are consistent. All that said, anything is better than nothing.

  • Progress Expectations: You will use that notebook to track your progression. After one month, you’ll notice a difference in how your body feels and how it functions; after three months of consistency, you won’t believe how far you have progressed.
