In addition to training youth clients in the gym, B Kids comes to life at Bodies by Burgoon through special events, in-studio clinics, and in classrooms. We've hosted kids' classes, taught teenage strength/weight trainings sessions, led dry-land training for youth athletics, and have spoken about healthy habits for kids.

Kids Should Be Strong, Too!

Just like adults, strength training for kids is fundamental — for health, for confidence, for sports performance, for building the foundation for a lifetime of healthy choices.

Q: How young is too young for kids to strength train?

A: Kids should be old enough to focus and listen to/follow instruction

Q: Do kids really need a trainer?

A: Kids should not start lifting weights until they know proper form (to prevent injury), which is no different that kids learning other sports; whether that’s an experienced adult, gym teacher, or a few sessions with a trainer for the parent and adult to learn the basics.

Q: Will strength training stunt my child’s growth?

A: This is a myth! It has been proven many times over that, If anything, when done properly, strength training encourages healthy growth of muscle and tissues.

Q: Is strength training dangerous for kids?

A: Strength training is not dangerous, when supervised. In fact, strength training is safer than other sports and builds strength in the body that can protect kids from injury during athletics.
