SENIOR TRAINER

Fitness has always been part of my life — sports, competing, helping others. It was what I loved to do, it came naturally to me. Since I enjoyed it so much, I never even thought of it as a career until a close friend suggested I become a personal trainer more than 12 years ago. But now, fitness has been central to my life and career ever since…a career that helps me feel personally fulfilled and even stay connected to my wife Jaime, and two step children.

I formally started my training career at Bally’s Total Fitness — it was there I met Jason Burgoon. He showed me the ropes and taught me a lot; he became a big part of the success and trajectory of my career. He knew what my strengths were, and he helped me use them to become a great trainer…a trainer who understands the importance of people in the equation of fitness. I don’t believe you just tell people what to do — you listen to them and understand where they’re coming from so that they can achieve whatever they want to achieve. Now, 12 years later, I’ve had the privilege of working with athletes, pre- and post-natal moms (an expertise for me), business executives, senior citizens, and even the Timberwolves dance team (for several years).

Over the years I’ve trained clients and even led huge teams of trainers for big corporate gyms. Most recently at Steele Fitness, I spent more than five years leading and strengthening the training programs for the company, and even created the chain’s entire group fitness program. In my years of training, I’ve always kept learning and growing — everything from NASM certifications, and even EMT and Fireman certifications. While I believe education is very important, I think I’ve learned the most from listening to clients and their needs. I’ve also learned to hold tight to doing what is right for my clients — making sure they’re set up for success and are in an environment that helps them achieve their goals. It’s that approach, and connection to Jason since the beginning of my career, that finally brought me to Bodies by Burgoon, a place where I can focus on training, focus on people, and focus on helping the company grow a mission of true strength.
